Gunilla Matteau

Gunilla lives with her husband Paul in a 170 year-old home outside of Merrickville where she enjoys her passion for beautiful flowers and
woods in her spare time. Gunilla has recently taken up woodturning as a sideline to her otherwise hectic schedule.

Gunilla particularly enjoys collaborating with her husband by creating new designs and modifying shapes that have been turned on the lathe.
This includes painting, carving and pyrography of otherwise plain wood turnings to create colourful functional items to be enjoyed by all.
Much of her efforts have been devoted to turning imported woods to highlight both the form and features.
